Government draws up plans to only allow FULLY-jabbed fans from attending Premier League matches with more than 20,000 spectators... and use of vaccine passports could be extended to lower leagues and other sports

  • Premier League fans need to be double-jabbed to go to games from October
  • The Government is drawing up plans for Covid passports at 20,000 venues
  • Fans without two Covid vaccines could be denied entry into the football games
  • Sports-mail revealed NSHX finished trials for a new Covid passports verifier app

Only fully-vaccinated football fans may be able to attend Premier League matches and other events with more than 20,000 spectators from October under Government plans.

Boris Johnson risks provoking further criticism from backbench Conservatives as ministers seek to extend the future use of vaccine passports from nightclubs to sporting stadiums.

Sportsmail revealed earlier this week that plans are being discussed that would require football fans to prove they have had two doses of Covid vaccination before they can go back to watching Premier League games in person.

Talks are now in an early phase with the Premier League to discuss whether supporters who have not been double-jabbed could be barred from entry.
